Sepia toned images - An example of creating a sepia toned image.

Sr Design Poster - Final display poster for my Senior Design class, Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering.

Top Shelf Recorder

A collection of easy and enjoyable music for the descant recorder. Although it has been compiled with the beginner in mind, it will also be very satisfying for those players who have already had previous experience but who feel the need to "brush up" on some simple melodies. It will be used most effectively by the student who has access to a more experienced musician or teacher to explain musical terms and conventions which are not explained in the book. Guitar chord symbols are used consistently throughout, in order to help provide accompaniments.

This was one of my first major publishing jobs. Dad wrote the music and I laid it out, printing it in Zimbabwe.

Alpha

"What is the point of life?
What happens when we die?
What relevance does Jesus have for our lives today?
How do we deal with guilt?"

My first colour publication! A leaflet for St. Mary Magadalene Anglican Church in Avondale, Harare, Zimbabwe, who were just starting their own Alpha course. The Alpha course turned out to be a great success. Click here to go to the Alpha web page.

It was a great effort trying to get a decent flame-lilly on the front and then print colour separations to a laser printer. It came out better than I expected.

Nchila Wildlife Reserve

"The Nchila Wildlife Reserve has recently been established by Pete Fisher at Hillwood Farms, near Ikelenge in the North West Province of Zambia. Hillwood is 70 km north of Mwinilunga, on the Sakeji River at an altitude of about 1,400m (4,600ft)..."

I obtained this job when Dad said he would do it and didn't get around to it. It turned out to be quite profitable though. ;-) See some animals

His Reign Shall Never End

A Contemporary Christmas Cantata

"This cantata was first performed by the Lilongwe Music Society at St Peter's Anglican Church, Lilongwe, Malawi in December 1991. It was at this time that my father, George Robert Raymond, became ill with what turned out to be a terminal illness. This marked the end of his commitment to 50 years of Christian service in Africa. It was during these years that he influenced the lives of so many, in a way that made me proud to be his son. He died in London in January 1994." - Matthew F. Raymond

The largest job I have done. The cantata, consisting of 13 songs and totalling 73 pages of music, took four weeks to transcribe onto the computer from a hand written score. I did the whole thing one vacation in Zambia and remember desperately printing the final copy out at 11:30 pm, the night before flying back to school!

Kiambogo '97

Rift Valley Academy Yearbook

We have all found ourselves this year at a school halfway down the Rift Valley escarpment. Some of us have just arrived and others will be moving on soon. Together we join the thousands of people who have been through RVA and have been shaped by being here. This year's Kiambogo, Pamoja (meaning "together"), celebrates not RVA the place, but the unique blend of people that has made up our lives together, and distinguishes this year from almost 100 years of RVA history. Togetherness is not a hidden reality here at RVA. The community is not a subtle presence. However, as you look through the pages of this book, consider how each of the people in it has helped shape our unique togetherness and how that togetherness has helped form each of us individually. Each of us feels that whenever we leave this place we will be different because we were here--pamoja.

This wasn't all my own work, but I thought that I put enough into it to merit putting it on this page!
