News from ShellyPhoto Journal - Part 2, August 2003My friend Anja and I joined a French girl to take a sea outrigger canoe to sail from Morodava to Morombe. Our theme for the week was "it is all about the adventure." With good wind it should have taken 3 days, but the wind was horrible so we took the trip one day at a time and made it after 7 days. Supposedly there should have only been five of us, but one of the fisherman's father-in-law needed a ride as well. The names of our fisherman were Foste and Jacquie. They are brothers who spend most of their lives fishing. At 6am six of us started on our way. We arrived in Belo for the night by 1:30. The day was not that bad. We decided we could handle two more days of it. The only big problem on day one was that we got caught in a rain storm...thank goodness everything was in plastic bags. We camped that night on the beach and woke up at 4am to sail to Andranopasy. For a side note we did not bring much food since there were places to eat in the two villages.
