News from Skinner13 December 2001Here I sit in Kampala's finest recording studio (that's not saying all that much really), racking my brain for any tiniest morsel of musical inspiration, so I thought I'd take a break and catch up with some of my old buddies. I love it here in Africa and refuse to accept that my future lies anywhere else, for the time being at least!
Life is going pretty good, I'm on the payroll - kind of liberating really. My brother and I run the recording studio here in Kampala, which we designed and created. I work hard and am fortunate enough to see the fruits of my labour pay off as our children's choir (Watoto) is doing quite well while on the road - raising lots of cash for our missions projects here in UG. Check out www.watoto.com to find out when the choir will be in your area. It’s quite a cool African experience that I know you would enjoy
I do miss my school mates a lot, and think of you guys often. I must admit that I am really quite interested in attending a reunion of sorts, it just all depends on when and where it happens. I think that if it were to occur anytime after June I would be able to attend (maybe even in the latter reaches of that blessed month - that's when I was vomited forth into this dark, ugly world at the hands of an angry midwife - that's why it's so blessed!) - Skinner
